About the role
A great Estimator can manage the complex process of bidding lighting work, from takeoff review to buyout, without missing a detail. The right person to an Estimator for Wavelength works well with a wide array of people - clients, manufacturers, rep agencies, and the team internally. The preferred candidate is familiar with architectural drawings and the process of bidding and procurement in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
Process incoming bids in an organized manner, managing the entirety of the bid process.
Review architectural drawings and the documents produced by the takeoff team and understand the technical elements of a project
Interface with the lighting procurement marketplace and assemble the components of the bid in a timely fashion
Produce proposals for internal and client review

In construction details are everything, so the right candidate is capable of managing complexity without error
Estimating when done well involves a lot of communication, so the Estimator needs to have excellent written and verbal communication skills
The Estimator will be someone who manages themselves effectively with an independent work ethic, but also someone who understand that they are coming into a high-functioning team where a team mindset is essential.

Other qualifications:
- Construction industry or adjacent procurement or estimating experience
Proficient with Excel, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with construction-specific software like Oasis, Procure, BuildingConnected, etc
Job details:
Full time position: $75,000-$90,000 annually plus benefits
Hybrid position; office in Downtown Brooklyn
